Bukaroo Bonzai As A Kustom Kulture Icon

Rating: 5/5

Very cool film. Starts off a bit slow- but picks up shortly there after. The overdub dialog is spot on! Beautiful to behold with excellent camera angles and an ethereal, post apocalyptic, dream like quality to the cinematography. Would love to see this on a double feature bill with my own film Hot Rod Girls Save The World. I'm just sorry it took me so long to discover this one.

Works on two levels: Weird and Weirder

Rating: 4/5

This is a movie that really has no genre. "Road Warriors" meets "Beach Blanket Bingo" meets "Leningrad Cowboys" by way of Hong Kong? The unifying element is surf music. And about in the middle of the movie we hear "Miserlou": the very extended version. If you are a fan of surf music, and I became one have hearing Miserlou and another song in "Pulp Fiction," then this movie is sheer fun--kinetic insanity set to a Russian group playing twangy surf rock. I am aware that a Finnish group, Laika and the Cosmonauts have kept surf alive in Northern Europe, and the Ventures, long after their popularity dried up in the US, were selling out in Japan. So in that spirit I just enjoyed watching the three things come together: oriental Kung Fu, northern european (Russian) musical sensibilities, and Surf music.

It's all harmless fun. The violence is not in-your-face graphic, and I suspect there is another unifying theme. For instance, what is it about 1957 that makes it so special? And why would someone be offended that someone else things a 1956 Chevy could take a 1947 Buick Roadmaster in a quarter mile run? Doesn't everybody think that?

I ordered this Item, it was sent twice through DHL Global mail and... I never received it

Amazing Movie!

Rating: 5/5

I love this movie! I first saw it on the Independent Film Channel -- it is so strange, yet this is what makes it amazing. The music is great and the cinematography is very interesting, though it is low budget. I just have to say, a guy who looks like a total nerd in a suit, plays the guitar like crazy, and gets it on with Samurai moves is completely awesome. This is actually one of the only DVD's I own...I'm picky, and this definitely made the list of "must have on my shelf" titles.

Great Movie, lacking bonus features on the DVD

Rating: 5/5

I really enjoyed this movie. Don't get the DVD for bonus features, as the bonus features I thought were lacking (no directors commentary or cut scenes)
