Ishams Best

Rating: 4/5

I am not a fervent fan of Mark Isham's work, but this is a fine cd.

Isham rocks

I'm a jazz guitarist, but even though Mark plays trumpet, it's still pretty cool :)

Fresh and Sincere

Rating: 5/5

Those who associate the music of Mark Isham with the sound of synthesizers may be surprised to hear that in terms of format, this is a conventional jazz quintet setting in which Isham concentrates on trumpet. What will not be surprising are the care, craftmanship, and ultimate musical quality of the music on Blue Sun. This is a wonderful CD that sets a high standard of excellence for contemporary jazz, with memorable melodies and appealing blends of sound that always sound fresh and sincere. For anyone with a taste for jazz, Blue Sun is a must-hear.

Quality-Plain and Simple

Rating: 5/5

Mark Isham is about as good as it gets. You know it is him when you hear his music.I have been educated listening to this man. BARCELONA, AND MILES
TO GO..........., and "et al" are on a river of there own. One that not many have ventured. Let me just say that from "GROUP 87's first LP" to "blue moon" and beyond he will never stir you wrong. This CD has a consistancy of quality-plain and simple.
THANKS, GREG
