Works as expected

Rating: 5/5

It works great in my box (which has a geforce 8800 GTS G92) with updated drivers and Vista 64bits, I even got a second guitar to play co-op (the xbox guitar, it's the same that comes with this bundle), custom songs can be also added using "guitar hero three control panel" after applying the 1.3 patch for the game.

Meet the minimum requirements

Rating: 4/5

This is a good game; I'm running it on a store bought 2.6 GHz HP with 1 gig ram and a standard video card with XP. No problems, easy install, no lag time. Lots of user error though, it's not an easy game, but a lot of fun.

Read the box!

Rating: 5/5

I recently bought GH3 for my PC, and for anyone who's debating buying it, I highly suggest reading this first.

For one, I've seen alot of reviews for this, many with less than top notch scores, mostly in regards to hardware/system requirements.

To those individuals who bought this game and reviewed it poorly for system performance, shame on you for not being an intelligent consumer and reading the requirements.

I have what would be considered a low-end system. A gig of ram, Geforce 6 series card ( AGP mind you..) etc. etc. Granted, I'm sure there are individuals with worse that are playing this, but remember that this is a PC GAME and as far as my hardware for PC GAMING is concerned, it's low end.

All that said, the game runs very smoothly. I'mm running WinXP and haven't had any bugs, crashes, etc. The controller plugged in and was working in seconds, no problem. Game recognized it, played smoothly, no chop, 50+ fps.

The bottom line is this : Don't use this, or ANY game on Vista and expect to be problem free. Vista is buggy and support is low, stop whining. If you have a decent system this game works great, is a fantastic port, and deserves better than a 3 star score simply because some ignorant person didn't read the damn box.

Buen Juego, pobre desempeño

Rating: 2/5

Choppy game, even on good hardware

Rating: 1/5

Hardware requirements steep for a relatively simple game. On recommended hardware, with resolution turned to minimum and all graphic features turned off, the fretboard is choppy with lag from time to time. (GH3 patch 1.1, WinXP Pro, 2.8 Ghz Pentium D with an ATI X1600-256MB). The game is too choppy to make any sense on levels over "medium". I wrote Aspyr support, and while they are very understanding, they can't tell if or when a performance patch is coming. Their opinion is that "if you turn down the resolution to a minimum and turn off 'crowd' and all graphic features, the single-player performance is acceptable on 'medium' level". I will junk the PC version and get GH3 for the Wii.
